#526 Mixed 7-Day Program

  • Mittagundi Outdoor Education Centre (map)
  • Google Calendar ICS

Our 7 day program sees groups of up to 24 young people walk away from electricity and modern comforts, through the Victorian High Country and into the 400 acre farm, that is Mittagundi. They spend time working together on the farm, fencing, growing food, milking cows, working with wood, steel and wool. They embark on adventures rafting the Mitta Mitta River and abseiling off a local cliff face before travelling back by troopy to civilisation.

The atmosphere at Mittagundi is simple, honest and happy. There are no watches, no timetables and no money. Instead there is an opportunity for young people to live and work together with others in an environment where people matter more than anything else.

Mittagundi prides itself on offering opportunities to as many young people as possible. In saying this we need to be able to offer the correct support where necessary. Mittagundi is not a therapeutic outdoor education centre. We can accommodate young people with special needs and this process begins by having a conversation with our Director.

All programs start and finish traditionally at Albury train station.

Please note - young people need to have already turned FOURTEEN before they can attend a program.

WINTER OPEN

WINTER OPEN

  • Mittagundi Outdoor Education Centre (map)

Spend time with us this winter on the farm and Cross country skiing up the mountain. Have the opportunity to sleep next to snow covered gums and have breakfast in a cosy old high country hut, before heading out for some cross country skiing and shenanigans in the snow. There will be plenty of hot chocolate to drink, snowmen to make and laughter as we fall down in the snow learning to ski together.

Back on the farm we will keep warm splitting wood, milking the cow, cooking and generally contributing to the running of the property. Living, working and having fun in community with each other; away from technology and the noise of modern life.

Any young person can come on our open winter program, whether it is your first time at Mittagundi or you have completed your 10 day and fourteen follow ups! We'd love for you to join us!

The winter open program will start and finish at Albury train station
