Mates of Mittagundi

Mates of Mittagundi (MOM) is a network of people from the extended Mittagundi family, who come together to support fundraising events and promotion of the organisation. After registering, MOM is run independently of Mittagundi. Mittagundi began operating in 1978. During this time the organisation and education centre has been built and maintained by volunteer supporters, generous donations and sponsorship.

Friends of Mittagundi (FOM) was established in the early 1990’s to support fundraising events and community education of Mittagundi in the North East District of Vic, primarily Mt Beauty. In 2014 the group disband and Mittagundi extend a massive heartfelt thank you to all those who supported Mittagundi for so long!

To continue the wonderful tradition of likeminded people coming together to help and contribute to Mittagundi in meaningful ways, MOM was formed in 2015.  We would like to carry on the work of the FOM and expand the program into the wider community.

Membership to MOM is not exclusive. We are seeking members that have an understanding of what Mittagundi is and want to support it – to be the advocates and champion helpers of the organisation.

You must first be a registered MOM Member. You can have your own ideas/events listed here too! Simply complete the Event Application Form. Once your event is approved it will be listed here! Following your event you will need to complete an Event Record Form.

These events are also listed on our Events Page

City Bush Dance

A Bush Dance fundraiser held in Melbourne at the Fitzroy Town Hall.

This event has been going for years and is hosted jointly by Mittagundi & Wollangarra. We need a team of city dwellers to jump into action to make this event a success! We need a couple of MOM people to jump in and take hold of this event as an official MOM event, independently of Mittagundi - but we'll be there to support you and we'll be there at the event to! As well as coordinating everything we need people to promote the event, organise the music, food, drinks, run the bar, help clean up, sell tickets, run dance competitions and an auction!

Tickets are available via  Trybooking

JANUARY 12th-14th 2018

Mittagundi Festival - 40th Anniversary

The Mittagundi Festival will celebrate Mittagundi's 40th Anniversary in 2018! The Bush Dance at Glen Valley Town Hall will be on Friday 12th January & the Open Day at Mittagundi on Saturday 13th January.

We need a large MOM team to come along for Bush Dance - to help cook and serve food and run the bar (RSA needed). The more helpers we have the more shifts we can swing.

The Open Day requires more bar shifts and food serving work, along with some happy helpers in the kitchen to keep the momentum going. We will also be running tours, showcasing an some Open Mic and Auction. So if you've got musical talent or items to Auction please bring with you!

If you can make it - and we hope you all can! Please contact:
