MITTAGUNDI 40th ANNIVERSARY- celebrate with us!
A family friendly weekend at Mittagundi on January 12th & 13th - live music, dancing, eating, talking, learning, camping - what more could you ask for? The weekend is all about celebrating a special place that provides young people with an opportunity to experience simple living and the beautiful High Plains.
It’s Mittagundi’s main fundraising event for the year and it’s a great chance to spend a weekend on the farm and find out more about this not-for-profit organization that has been tucked away in the valley for 40 years.
It will be a weekend of camping, music, dancing, tours, pioneer skills demonstrations and lots more. Come for the whole weekend, just the day or join us for a special dinner on Saturday night. We'd love to see you!
The Glen Valley Hall will be pumping with bush dance classics on Jan 12th for a big Friday night bush dance and BBQ!! The Briagolong Bush Band will be playing and we'll be dancing.

Camping at Mittagundi is included as well as a free shuttle bus to Glen Valley hall. BBQ dinner available. No BYO alcohol

Our Open Day at the farm is a fantastic day for the whole family (under 18 to be accompanied by an adult).
Featuring Pioneer Skill Demonstrations, workshops and games for kids. We'll have merchandise, food and drinks for sale and an auction at 4pm - a great way to help Mittagundi raise funds!
GAMES for all ages, Sheaf toss, human tractor pull, crosscut sawing, gumboot toss, Mittagundi run and loads of other fun
TOURS - take a property tour with a young person that has been on a program and learn all about their experience at Mittagundi.
INTERACTIVE WORKSHOPS AND DISPLAYS with wood, wool, metal, leatherwork and chair making. Fly fishing, displays from pioneering days, History of Mittagundi displays.
OPEN MIC - from 12 noon there will be live music on the stage. A fantastic opportunity for aspiring musicians to take the stage. If you would like to be book an open mic session, please email liz@mittagundi or bring your instrument and put your name down on the day.
AUCTION - At 4pm there will be the traditional Mittagundi Auction - items may include pioneering tools, handmade items, camping equipment, Ian Stapelton books, accommodation and activities, and many more interesting items
Food and drink available for purchase at our cafe, BBQ and bar. No BYO alcohol.

- Make your own favourite cooking spatula all in an hour at the amazing Mittagundi 40th Anniversary Festival.
Learn from the Spoonsmith, Jeff Donne, whose roaming Spoon School has become a hit up and down the east coast of Australia. You'll start with a split branch, and with tuition from Jeff on how to safely and effectively use a simple carving knife you will turn it into an awesome kitchen buddy that will go with you on many foodie adventures!
Great for complete beginners. Everything is provided, just rock up and carve for an hour!
- a 1.5 hour workshop for kids where they will learn the traditional way to make a hay rake straight from a tree. Maximum 10 participants per workshop. http://www.spoonsmith.com.au/

Our celebratory 40th-anniversary dinner and music on Saturday night. Featuring our special guests Sally Dastey and Sal Kimber two of Australia's most amazing singer song writer-artists. Camping at Mittagundi included.
Sally is a singer song writer. Formally a member of the highly successful band TIDDAS, she has released her own albums Secrets To Keep and Half A Wish, Half A Moon Sally joins us at Mittagundi for the 40th Anniversary dinner. We really look forward her amazing voice, songs, and stories.
Once a Mittagundi staff member, Sal has continually supported our fundraising events as a bush dance caller and performer with her band The Rollin' Wheel. Sal comes to the stage for our 40th Anniversary dinner sharing her wonderful songs and stories.
WHERE DO I STAY?
Camping is included at Mittagundi on Friday and Saturday nights (please indicate on your ticket purchase). Please note that this is a family friendly event and BYO alcohol is not permitted.
Bunk Beds are also available at Mittagundi and Ian's Hut sites. Bookings can also be made for Glen Valley Retreat. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
