After a search spanning the country we have found a new Director to lead Mittagundi from the start of 2010.
Directing Mittagundi is an exciting, challenging and at times exhausting experience and we wish Jacquie all the best for her three year journey.

It is customary at Mittagundi to employ two directors at a time and so we are on the hunt for an inspiring co-director to work with Jacqui.

If you know anyone who has a passion for leading young people through challenging programs in the beautiful Victorian bush and the skills and experience to be a valuable part of the team please send them this way!

Interested or know someone who might be? - Contact Jacqui - jac@mittagundi.org.au - she is currently working at Wollangarra so she may take until the weekends to get back to you.

How about a fresh adventure? A big challenge? A place to develop your personal and professional skills in the spectacular setting of the Victorian High Plains?

Each year Mittagundi provides an opportunity for six people to join our staff team and have the experience of a life time.

As a member of our team you get to live and work at Mittagundi, a remote and beautiful pioneer property in Victoria’s High Country. It is a simple life. You will be a crucial part of team delivering life changing experiences for young people on our Summer and Winter programs. We support you with great skills and courses like Wilderness First Aid, Management and Team training, Rafting & White water, 4WD, Chainsaw, plus a few others...
So. If you have a desire to live in a simple, honest and happy way, an urge to do something just a bit different, and a deep sense of the value of working with young people in challenging environments to achieve amazing outcomes this could be an opportunity for you.

To make a great team we look for a diverse range of skills and experiences. In the past team members have included school leavers, uni students, teachers, outdoor ed professionals, engineers, and most of all just genuinely passionate people! There are no special boxes that you need to have ticked. Just a bit of energy and passion and the desire to 'give it a go'.

The position is for 12 months and in exchange for your awesome energy Mittagundi provides all your food and board (yes - you can eat as much as you like!), intensive training and skills development that continues for the whole year, and a little bit of cash to keep the wheels turning ($6000 per year). We know it ain't much but the experience is worth it.

Join the search for new Directors for 2010

Posted on Saturday, March 21, 2009

Every 3 years Mittagundi seeks out 2 people to lead our organisation.

The Director(s) role is immensely challenging and rewarding and offers a truly unique lifestyle and the opportunity to facilitate life changing courses for young participants (14 to 18yo). Past directors have commented on how much the role has changed their lives and the influential experiences that they encountered during their time at Mittagundi.

The position draws on a range of skills - educational, outdoor (hiking, group leading, rafting, etc), practical (milking cows!) with the responsibility of running a small successful non-profit organisation. No single day will be the same and as a director you will find yourself doing things that you never would have expected.

Mittagundi aims to be the best personal and professional experience available for people in all areas of the organisation from the participants to the directors, staff and council. As a Director you will have access to training, resources and support to help you grow with the position.

Interested yourself or know someone who is? Let Tom know (Mittagundi Council Chairperson) on 0417 345 181 or tom@mittagundi.org.au
